Who We Are
The St. Thomas More Society of Orange County is an independent organization sponsored by Catholic lawyers and judges who are practicing members of the Roman Catholic Church. Our mission is to provide opportunities for the Catholic legal community to strengthen its faith through education, fellowship, and prayer.
We are dedicated to fostering a community where Catholic legal professionals can deepen their faith, uphold ethical standards, and integrate their spiritual beliefs into their legal practice. Through regular gatherings, educational programs, and spiritual events, we aim to support our members in navigating the unique challenges of the legal profession while staying true to their Catholic values.
Our society offers mentorship opportunities, networking events, and resources tailored to the needs of attorneys at all career stages - from law students and early-career lawyers to seasoned practitioners. By promoting a culture of mutual support and shared faith, we inspire our members to exemplify integrity, justice, and compassion in their professional and personal lives.

Early-Career
STMS connects law students and newly barred attorneys with experienced Catholic lawyers for mentorship, networking, and career opportunities, fostering a strong professional foundation and faith-based community throughout Orange County.
Mid-Career
STMS fosters lifelong friendships, professional support, and spiritual growth, helping attorneys and their families navigate ethical challenges, career pressures, and the demands of a busy legal practice while staying true to their Catholic faith.
Late-Career
STMS keeps attorneys engaged through spiritual programs, fellowship, and service opportunities, supporting those transitioning toward retirement while seeking greater work-life balance, professional fulfillment, and deeper faith connections.
Monthly Events & Special Access
We host various events throughout the year, from faith-centered gatherings like the Red Mass and spiritual retreats to networking and community-building events such as career-focused happy hours and family celebrations. In addition to our own events, we also share opportunities for spiritual enrichment and professional development that may be of interest to our members. Red Mass
Each year our Society hosts a Red Mass that brings together lawyers and judges from throughout Orange County. The event continues to thrive and tie our community together through the eucharist.
